On Wednesday, 6 February, Arseniy Yatseniuk, the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, held a telephone conversation with Serhiy Lavrov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
In the course of the conversation, S.Lavrov congratulated A.Yatseniuk with Ukraine´s accession into the WTO.
In his turn, the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stated that accession of "such an extensive economy as economy of the Russian Federation" to the WTO should be precipitated, and that Ukraine is willing to render any assistance in the said process. He emphasized that Ukraine is concerned with Russia´s membership in the WTO.
A.Yatseniuk stated that accession of the Russian Federation to the WTO will contribute to bilateral Ukrainian-Russian relations.
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine also congratulated the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation with an occupational holiday The Russian Diplomats´ Day, and wished S.Lavrov further success in important international political activity.
